After obtaining my law degree from Baylor University in April of 2001, I worked as a law clerk for the Denton County District Attorney's Office in their Family Law Division, assisting primarily the attorneys who represent Child Protective Services in child termination suits.
After becoming licensed in the State of Texas in November 2001, I was employed as a Misdemeanor Second in the Misdemeanor Division of the Denton County District Attorney's Office prosecuting all misdemeanor charges. While serving as a Misdemeanor Second, I was the lead attorney for the State of Texas on a case styled "State of Texas v. Client Warren." This particular case was a theft by check case involving numerous checks. After a two day bench trial and a guilty verdict, the defense appealed this case. In a lengthy opinion by the Fort Worth Court of Appeals, they affirmed the Court's ruling and published their opinion, including my work as the lead attorney.
Shortly after I was hired as a Misdemeanor Second, I was promoted to Misdemeanor Chief in the Misdemeanor Division of the Denton County District Attorney's Office. Misdemeanor Chief is the highest recognition for a misdemeanor attorney. It was in this position as a Misdemeanor Chief that I learned the innerworkings of the Denton DA's Office. In May of 2003 I worked for a law firm in Denton, Texas which practices primarily Family Law and Criminal Law.
I am currently the President of the Denton County Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association, a newly elected director of the Denton Bar, a member of the Texas Bar and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and member of the College of the State Bar. I am involved in every aspect of Criminal and Famiy Law and strive to say on top of every new law that is enacted because it can matter to you.
Currently I am a partner of, Alexander & Baldwin, a law firm which focuses on handling all legal matters in the area of both Family and Criminal Law for a reasonable fee.
